;D Launched in Solon this morning at 830 with EMTP579, we logged around 106 miles. We did a huge loop and rode up through DeRuyter and ended up in Lafayette and then returned via Tully. All in all a great day.... see map below Not really any good pics from yesterday... Here are a couple I took

Clayton had his camera and took a few pics. He got a n ice new camera for xmas along with very nifty protective case. I seldom bring my camera.
I can't tell you how nice of a ride this was. The truck trails were in great shape, temps were good, light snow all day.
Many of the fields were blown, but they were frozen so not a big deal. What was fun was the huge drifts that we got to blow through. Surprisingly only saw about 10 sleds in that ~110 miles and 6 hours of riding. All the better . . .
raceguy - what did you think and where did you end up going?

Sorry for the delay guys....my good 'puter took a dump and I had to get the old faithful up and going. We left Solon and went out 5g to 5e to Cincinnatus, then headed to DeRuyter for gas and coffee. I can't even tell you half the places we were, but we knocked out 86 miles and had a blast. I also found those drifts (on 5e weren't they?) and made an Arctic Cat sized hole in one that was about 4' high! LOL I'll definitely head back up there to ride again....that was a good day! We left there about 7 or so. I took some pics, and will get them on here as soon as I get my good 'puter up and going again. Thanks for all the help in finding the place Clayton and Dan, I wish we could have hooked up, but the winter is young still! Really was a very nice day of riding! Duane

I hit one drift that swallowed the yammi, Dang thought I was going to need a shovel. I pinned it and surprisingly it pulled right through!
Glad you enjoyed. I found that spot last December they had snow on those truck trails when everyone else was bare. It reminds me of Winona Forest area. Next time try going left at the first intersection head towards east Homer, wow some nice flat truck trails that way.
Hope your 'puter is fixed soon so we can see the pic's! ;D

I was wondering where a good place to unload would be. I'm thinking about trying to unload in the Cortland area or some where closer than Tug. I'm coming from Watkins Glen and I've never ridden in this area. Any and all hints and pointers would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

Coming from Watkins, you can unload at the Dryden VFW, right on Route 13 as you're coming into Dryden, but I'd wait until there's more snow cover. I went out the other day and had to hunt for snow. I found it, but it's probably been beaten down pretty good now.

There is a few places to drop in the Solon area, I live about a half mile from the Dryden VFW and went to Solon because of the snow cover. The VFW is a great place to launch when we have enough snow.

You can drop at The Mountainview in Preble, on Rt 281, one mile south of the Preble exit of I-81. Can't miss it.

When I was driving down 81 yesterday the trails looked good from Dennys mountainview.
Had my sled not gotten twisted up on Tug hill I would have been riding those trails yesterday.

^ Clayton and I did a nice job of breaking those trails nice for you! For about 50 miles of the ride we were the first ones through.
It was also nice to see some of the clubs out grooming where there was enough to do so.
Nice pics.

By the way, that middle pic that medic 944 posted is Toggenberg Mountain. There is a link right to the hill from the main trail.
