what do you think? STUDS. Do they help you out or do they damage your track and everything in their way?

I'm on the fence when it comes to studs. I have them on my ZRT and they come in real handy when I come across bare spots or just areas with limited snow cover. However, when I rode without them I couldn't really notice one heck of a difference. I guess that's just my view but hey, that's what I thought. Hope I could help you out.

Studs, allthough with the limited amount of snow we could ride more without them. But they do add a considerable safety margain. You need to add some carbides in the front but it is well worth it. I ride across the lake a lot and know the value of studs and carbides. Even in a good hard pack the track does not spin near as much. The bonus is you do not get stuck, when I ran bare I would spin when going across a road thru a ditch or even get stuck if the guy in front made me stop in the ditch. With studs its no longer an issue. Just my 2 cents, Don R

Studs! Just for the safety factor alone. Although I think alot of people over stud. 102 in my F-5 and 144 in ZRT 600. I didn't stud the ZERT if I did I'd have gone with 96 down the middle.

Do I need to include the picture of me stranded by Winona with a blown track? Or do I need to include the picture of my credit card receipt of getting the new track installed up there?
Studs suck. Yeah, I have had them on 3 tracks, they do help... but I have destroyed 3 tracks with them.
Ran this year with a 1 1/4 track and loved it. Only time I noticed was on a really icy hill on the trail, riding down an icy road, no snow covered ice corner.
I will never run the d**n things again.
