Yesterday (1-9) I had a spur of the moment idea to hit the trails...well not all that spur of the moment since I always think about riding except this time it worked out I had time and a few people to go with....
My Dad (RAPSRV) and a buddy Tommy, who isn't new to snowmobiling but doesn't get out much, and myself hit the trails...
We started in Spencer on S28 which was in pretty good shape, no moguls just a few rocks here and there which is expected since a portion of the trail rides along the RR tracks. From there we took trail C2 up through the woods and across some open fields which with the blown snow were fast and smooth and with a few decent drifts to make it interesting!!! ;D
From there we ended up on S26D to S25 through a few Maple Syrup farms and past a few rather large not so awesome smelling cattle farms but through a really awesome section of woods that the trail road along the ridge of a pretty good sized ravine until we made it back into Candor for a pit stop at Calico Jacks. Had some nice warm Tea and Coffee a few snacks and then made the return trip back home along the same route.
Overall, we did roughly 40 miles but we thought it was pretty good considering most of the trails are 10-15 mph trails and twisty turny so you're doing alot of work. Either way I had a great time, I know my Dad did as well and I'm sure from talking with Tommy after the ride and AGAIN later last night!!! That we may have another full time riding partner.
So all in all a good trip and can't wait to get back out there and do it again, Hopefully we'll see everyone out on the trails, maybe at the group ride or maybe plan something else out there...THINK SNOW!!!
