I am thinking about a Summer project. Maybe getting into the Vintage thingy. I had a blast last year at the Horseheads show and wouldn't mind getting involved. Although I hate getting frustrated with these things so I am going to look for something cheap that really isn't beat up too bad. Maybe a "barn" find or something.

When I was a teen, I found an old 1976 Alluoette(sp?) in my neighbor's barn with no motor...the rest of the sled was MINT! He used to be a dealer in the 70's. Gave me the sled for free. I had an old 197? Scorpion Super Stinger 3...the chassis was a piece of sh*t, but the 440 CCW motor was strong. I spent the summer swapping the motor, aligning everything, restoring to my best ability. The end result was an awesome running sled. It reminded me of the earlier Yammy Phazer, very groundbreaking design from Alluoette at the time, so in the 80's it still looked cool. When people asked what year my sled was, they were shocked to hear '76. As I left for college, sold the sled to a local who used it as his winter transportation to and from the farm. I still regret not having it to this day..someday I'll find another.

I'd like to do the same. My son and I saw a 1972 Olympic 399 at the Boonville Fairgrounds this past weekend. I had one just like it only a 1971 sans the black racing stripes. I was amazed at how small and simple it looked compared to our sleds. It would be a great project to restore one.
Like I need another project.

Well.... I have an old kitty kat that I have had since before I could walk. I think it is a late 70's sled. I like the arctic cats that kinda looked like those. I think the old cheetahs would be nice. Something that could maybe sit side by side with the kitty kat.
