Those of you guys who rode with me Saturday probably heard my sled squeeling a little bit. Friday I changed the belt because the other had a tear in it. The guy I got the sled from got it Brand new from the dealer. He told me he never changed the belt before and that it was original. He had a spare brand new OEM belt he gave me. Exact same belt and #. I changed it on Friday and now the sled wants to go on its own and if you hold the brake down it starts to Squeel. It didn't do this before I changed the belt. Now it doesnt do it all the time but it does it a lot. Is this something like the new belt just needs to be broken in or could it be something else? It was getting annoying.

Did you clean the belt first to get the releasing compound off it? You might want to lower the idle speed if it is over 2000rpm. If not, you can reshim the secondary to allow a bit more slack on the belt.

I didn't have a squeal with a new belt, but did find that my sled wanted to creep ahead when stopped idling. It did seem as though it was idling a bit fast so I backed it down a bit and never had a problem again....
