Ran the trail (C2, I think it is) from Berkshire to Whitney Point today. Its in pretty good shape in most locations. The cover is getting thin in some spots, fields and woods mostly, but there were no wet holes anywhere (no surprise). There is a good hard base in most locations after yesterday's warm up, then last nights deep freeze. Only saw a few sleds, probably because it was so cold - like 10 and windy.
The Whitney Point Ridge Runners have done their usual great job of clearing, signing, and grooming - we just need some fresh snow!
There is a somewhat new pit stop in Berkshire - the Cross Creek Cabin. There are a signs for it at a couple of junctions close to Berkshire. Its about 5 minutes off the trail between Rt 38 in Berkshire and Poor Shots - take a left (head South) at the top of the hill just west of Rt 38. Its rustic, and small, but the food was real good. They are doing breakfast tomorrow (Sunday). Its worth a visit if you are in the area and hungry or cold - good people.

Oh sweet! That is just a mile or two from me I bet. Is this the place I heard about to stop for breakfast on the trail? Very cool. I want pictures next time! I should be back in action by mid week! CAn't wait! I spent today cleaning out my heater and other duties. Sucked haha.

Matt - actually the driveway is just around the bend from your place on the left - then up the hill maybe 1/4 mile to the cabin.
