Is there any snow up the hill in Richford, the old Clarks seed farm area. Is there any snow in the forecast for the immediate future. Will the trails open tomorrow.

We got about 5" in the valley today, so there is probably a bit more up there tonight. There are not really any state trails going through there.

Sled05 - I was going to head up there today to go snowshoeing but I am sick so its going to have to wait.
Tim, another person from berkshire on here!? Sweeeeet.
I was going to start up the sled today to rip around the back yard but I can't, wont' start, I think its the plugs.
I was over in dryden last night in my car, there was about 4-5 inches. Not enough for trail riding IMO. After 3-4 sleds go thru its tore up and grass.

tim Near the end of Robinson Hollow Rd, before the trailer park, there is a trail on the right side of the road that ties into a state trail about 1/2 mile up. My camp is at the opposite end of Robinson Hollow Rd.

arcticatmat Sounds like a bit of bad luck, your sick and your sled wont start. Did you put some stabil in your tank at the end of the season last year. I did and three pulls it fired up

Sled 05 - yeah, I know which trail you mean - the narrow secondary trail between Rt 79 and Star Stanton/Yellow Barn state forest.
We used to ride the seed farm itself years ago. But the state modified Rt 79 in the narrows just west of Richford and wiped out the crossing - its now a sheer cliff, and there is no easy way to get over there anymore. It was all open land back then.

Tim - I ride my 4 wheeler on all that land between 79 and 38. If you have a wheeler we should hookup in spring

No stabil in my tank. But I did run it for a few miles just last week. I checked a plug and got no spark. So I am going to get new plugs as soon as I feel better. I can't ride it anyways, not really enough snow, I am sick, and its missing a windshield. I sent it out to a painter 2 months ago and have not got it back yet. Sled 05 - yeah, I know which trail you mean - the narrow secondary trail between Rt 79 and Star Stanton/Yellow Barn state forest. I am trying to figure out where this is. Was that part of my little excursion that I posted a ride report about on here last year? Turns out the 4 wheeler tracks I seen were Sled05's.

Matt,
I remember that post and the pictures, and figured that you were probably up on Clark by that secondary trail.
The main trail from Berkshire to Dryden crosses 79 by Level Green Rd and goes straight north next to Flatiron Rd, crosses the Slaterville-Harford Rd, and up a seasonal road into the state land (Yellow Barn, I think). Just north of 79, a secondary trail cuts northeast, through someone's yard, and up onto the hill at the end of Pacific Rd. Once you get up top, its narrow and rides a couple of switchbacks on the side of a steep hill. Its not the kind of place you want to have problems, and I always worry a little when I go in there alone. Eventually it comes down a dug road, crosses a power line, and comes out on Hartford Rd just a little west of the Cornell Sheep Farm. From there it goes up into the same state land as the main trail and ends up at the top of Star Stanton Rd, crosses 38 by the Cornell barns, and heads over to Greek. Its a nice loop to take this trail, go to Greek, then Marathon and Whitney Point and back home.
We'll have to get together to ride once we get enough snow. I went up back today on the hill and there is about 10" in the woods. If we get another 3 or 4 tonight/tomorrow, it might not be too bad riding. Still a lot of wet spots though.
