If you have new or different places to ride in the area that others are allowed to ride, please pass that on or maybe plan a group ride or something. Let's open up the trail system with land-owners and farmers where you can ride and wouldn't mind having some locals ride too.

Tomorrow, (sat feb 3) we are having a get together and ride at 1pm (leaving at 1:30). Meeting at Groton Cycle Center corner of Rt 222 and Lick st Groton. There is plenty of space to trailer in if you need to. Here is the link to their web site; grotoncyclecenter.com/

rj, Is there someplace to park where we can get access to your trails? I'll be in the area later next week and would like to do a little riding. I'm going up to see my son who is in Cortland college. Any help would be appreciated. I don't mind buying a trail map or even making a donation to your club. Thanks.

Would anybody like to comment on the riding of club trails by members of other clubs or even non-members? What's the usual policy? Are there written or unwritten rules? I would be interested in anybodys comments. Thanks.

If the storm comes then the Dryden trails will be open and you can park at the VFW. You can park at the Mountain view on RT 281 in Preble as they have more snow to the north. I also see people parking at the Nice & easy at the Tully exit off of RT 81. The trails are state funded in this area so all you need is your NY registration and insurance. The trails are great and the local clubs do a great job.

You can park and offload in the village of Groton on Conger Blvd. Right in front of the Town Barn. There is easy access to the trail as it runs parallel to the street right there. The best marked portion is then directly through the Baker-Miller lot.

Thanks rj I'll give that a try this week. Sounds like some good snow coming tonight and tomorrow, hopefully it will hang around awhile and salvage something out of this winter.

I used to work up in Cayuga county so I bought a trailer in Summerhill to stay in during the week back in 2001. I then discovered the great snowmobiling the area had and joined the local club. I no longer work in the area since 2003 but ride it at least two weekends a month when we have the snow. I bought my 2003 sled at Doug's power sport in Cortland and put 4000 miles on it mostly out of my door in Summerhill.

I will be in Summerhill Tomorrow night for four days with my son. The area is a great place to ride and very safe compared to many other areas. We have rode Tioga,Tomkins, Broome, Cortland, Onondaga and Madison counties all from our trailer in Southern Cayuga. Mile for mile they are some of the best trails I have ridden on.
