I had my project srx out and running the other day and I found that there was oil seeping out around the spark plug threads. So I checked the gap and the obvious to make sure the plug was tight, which it was. So my question is does anyone know of what could be causing the problem? I'm curious if maybe the rings are bad or if its just running rich? If so why isn't it doing it on both cylinders...? If anyone has any ideas or input feel free to respond, I'm open for suggestions and comments.

Mike yo mike, i would definitely check your rings. maybe do a compression check. the small gaps in the rings might be lined up with each other. if so, oil from below will make its way out to the other side. depending on the rings, the gaps should be set opposite each other for that reason. you should probably change the piston and rings out anyways. you are doing a rebuild so why not! is there oil coming out near the exhaust?
