I met up with Scott Rabeler (Daggerdoggie) and Mary O'Connor for the last ride of the season in Old Forge. We had a great ride on the OF and Inlet trails. The trails were very smooth and there were other sledders out there also for the last hurrah. I am guessing that the groomers in OF pretty much said that they are done for the season themselves since we didn't see any during the ride. Still the trails were smooth and pretty fast. We went across some of the lakes but that had it's moments! They had gotten rain and a decent amount of snow but the temps never froze the top layer. There was still anywhere from 2-3 ft of ice on all the lakes. Lots of ice fishing going on. Anyway, I got to ride just under 90 miles for the last trip and was glad I went up to meet with them. This truly was an awesome season for snowmobiling. Definitely no lack of snow wherever you went. Dagger is my new snowmobiling hero! Brand new sled and over 2000 miles for the season!! Already looking forward to next year. For now....planning the garden. Keep in touch all!!
