The battery tie down came loose on my 2002 Pantera and shorted across the positive terminal and the frame. The starter is totally dead, or else the battery got toasted. Even after charging the battery for a while I get nothing.
Owners' manual shows fuses for a 4 stroke, but not for a 2 stroke. I don't see any obvious fuse box under the hood. The sled does run if I pull start it.
Does anyone have any ideas or suggestions?
Thanks!

Check behind the battery, there is a wire that comes from the regulator and it will likely have a 10amp fuse in it.
If you shorted the battery, it is most likely dead too.

Thanks RJ. I've got the trickle on the battery overnight - will probably take it to autozone to test it tomorow. I'll look for the fuse.

Hey - thanks for that link. Great resource! I only see one fuse, and it looks to be in the headlight harness. My lights still work, so maybe the battery just shorted. Heading to the garage as soon as it warms up.

There is a fuse in line from the regulator to the battery that does not show in the diagrams.
