Dropped at VFW around 6pm and the GPS recording worked this time so you can see for yourself where we went - mostly Hammond hill and Slaterville springs. Trail was broken all the way to the 76 club so we stopped there for drinks. Trails were nice, fast and flat where we went and I think there was one small water hole we saw but that was it... other then that it was all snow. www.everytrail.com/view_trip.php?trip_id=993246&code=5f20f85ada0cc552564ca9afed59ce93 <<< link to GPS MAP (flash) picasaweb.google.com/lh/photo/rHDcODZGGMJyRuY1shYoRA?feat=directlink <<< link to picture of GPS MAP picasaweb.google.com/InternetFreakMHL/Snowmobiling# <<< I only took one picture this time. When we crossed 79 the first time we ran out of trail, we broke it until we got to a field where it looked like they were logging and didn't want to risk running into something as it didn't seem to be well marked where to go. On our way back from the 76 club we followed the broken trail until it lead us to some guys garage and then turned around and ended up going back the way we came down. When we were heading back we saw that Rabbit Run was broken so we took that. Nice fast narrow trail and when it broken it helps with not getting lost on it. Overall around 50 miles and a real good time. Conditions are really good as long as you stay around the hill and stay off the lower trails.

Hey you were in my neck of the woods! You got hung up on the same trail I did last night! S26.. www.dcdrifters.net/files/DCDrifters2009map.jpgI emailed the club today. I followed your tracks up there and they turned around haha. I kept going right up to the cliff edge and took a photo. I have it all on my helmet camera too. That trail is closed and there were signs up but apparently some jerk removed them. You were not far from the 76 club when you went back towards slaterville.. Could have used S25, thats what I did last night. You took the long way but I am sure you know that. Why did you turn around on S23A? I doubt that was broken given the powder.. that is one of my favorites also, I have a helmet cam video of that trail on youtube. Rabbit run is a blast! I wanted to run it last night but it didn't work out.

Hey,
I know we weren't far from the 76 club and it was frustrating to have to turn around but we were the ones breaking that trail and we had gotten stuck twice doing so to get that far. S25 was not broken at all when we went through and after our trail breaking experience so far we didn't feel like risking it. S23a was not broken either and a GPS is great to have but if the trail isn't marked real well and you aren't familiar with the area breaking a trail is hard to do with the GPS alone. We took the long way around but the trails were fast and smooth so it didn't really bother us to do so. Rabbit Run was fun though :-)
