Just wanted to say hi, I'm looking formward to speaking with some like minded people, maybe make some riding buddies out of it as well. I'm not very familiar with sowmobiles or riding, I just bought a 1995 zr 700 and am looking forward to getting her running in top shape for the upcoming season.

I see that you found it OK. Welcome to the best regional board.
Watch the general board section for the ride announcements and gathering point plans.

Welcome to the site....glad you're here.
If you're in the "twin tiers", and looking for someone that is going to go riding, you've found the right place....
Once you've ridden, you'll be hooked I'd bet....just make sure you wear good warm gear, as riding cold is no fun.
What area are you from?

From Long Island (but moving to Albany area in within a year!). I've been snowmobiling only twice, once in Maine where me and 2 friends logged almost 400 miles in a day and a half on rentals(long story, got lost) and this past winter me and the fiance rented a 2 up sled for a guided tour in Lake George. I was hooked in Maine, she got the bug in Lake George.

Do you gentlemen know of a reputable Arctic Cat dealer/shop that I can bring my sled to for the work that's out of my capabilities, maybe something in the Albany area? I have a hard enough time finding a decent mechanic on Long Island, but there are maybe 3 snowmobile shops around here, and I do not trust any of them. Thanks.

The dealer I'd take my sled to if I couldn't fix something myself is Marcellus Sales on Rte. 12 in Earlville....nice folks, and their prices won't kill a guy.... Here's a link to their site: www.marcellussalesinc.com/index.htmDuane

Thanks guys, I needed to find a trustworthy place. Living so far from them I need to know that they will do the right thing for me.

Hey toofast...Welcome once again. Great website for this sort of communication for sure. Hopefully we'll get the snow for good riding! Not sure if you are aware of all the details of registering your sled(s). Make sure you join a snowmobile club before registering. Otherwise it will cost you $100.00 for registration. You can join any club in NY for about $25.00 for a family membership. Then registration is $45.00.

Join a snowmobile club prior to registering my sled in NY state? When I go to DMV to register it is there an area on the form that asks for this? What clubs do you guys reccomend?

Check out NYSSA > www.nyssnowassoc.org/You can join a club online, print the membership/receipt and take with you to DMV as proof that you are a member. Where to join? I would suggest joining where you plan to ride the most. Welcome and have fun!
