Welcome Edd, Welcome to the site. Nice looking sled there. This is a great group of guys on this site from young to old so dont worry. We try to get together every year to ride. There are always a few asking for people to ride on the weekends so you can always find someone to ride with here. The season is over so most of the site traffic is limited but there is still a couple of us who are on the site all year. So hopefully the site can help you out and dont be shy!
Welcome and enjoy
Rob

Edd, welcome to the site and one of the most contagious sports there is!
When the snow flies again, keep an eye out here on the site....someone is always wanting to ride ~ just load her up and join in on the fun!
If you are not going to pull the exhaust and paint it with high temp. paint, I'd suggest you give it a good covering of WD-40 to slow or stop and further rust accumulation.
She's not a bad looking sled for the year, and I think you'll get a lot of fun out of it.
Just remember to dress for the weather as it is hard to have a good time if you're not comfortable.
Glad to have you here and glad to have you as a fellow "sled-head".....again, welcome!
Duane

yeah until the snow flies i still got alot to do, i need clothing, helmet, gloves and a bunch of other stuff before i can ride.

Hey Edd and welcome, This is a terrific site to find out whats going on in the NY-PA snowmobile world. You just need to keep checking in. There will be a Spring BBQ planned in the near future for folks from this site. You'll get to meet alot of sledders for sure. (Nice sled...love them Yamaha's)

For the exhaust you should use a high temp (1800 degree) paint. Either something that is formulated to use on a bbq grill, or better yet is powder coating.

I got the grill paint and I got most of the Exhaust sanded and painted. I have to finish sanding the Y and finish the Springs. Other then taht I found an issue with the Exhaust. There is a Crack about an inch long. Is there anyway to Fix this? and is it an Issue at this point?
I will have Pictures up tomorrow

There is a Crack about an inch long. Is there anyway to Fix this? and is it an Issue at this point? Where exactly on the exhaust is this crack, on the "y" pipe?
