BUFFALOKAT FROM NY HAS BEEN TRYING TO GET THE NYSSA TO GET A ONE TIME REG FOR VINTAGE SLEDS. PLS FILL OUT. Thanks to who reply, but NYS guys have never been more close to this happening. NYSSA has a committee for it (Never before) I'm on it,so you know I'm fighting for US ! The BIG thing now is to contact all you elected officials with a email, Razanhoffer,Seward and Volker already have bills submitted,NYSSA is holding them back to gather info. Which has been made my task. There is a FOIL report, but only from DMV that shows sleds registered that are 25yrs or older. This is what NYSSA is using to see what the lost revenue would be if sleds got a reduced fee. They are registered at full price now and there are many, more that I would have thought. Vintage Lives in NY !! PLEASE,send link to survey to your clubs online forum: www.surveymonkey.com/s.aspx?sm=L0G_2b9gyhGka107_2bPfo_2bXpA_3d_3d There is a big area meeting coming soon and Id love to have some NEW facts to (stuff down there throat) I mean present

roscoejoe, Thanks for spreading the word and to all voters. But I need to ask more of you,If your a NYSSA member Please go the bulletin board and sound off on the vintage thread. Word has it a direct request has been made to Mike Fisher to the lobbyists from some higher ups to start the vintage provision !! This is BIG !!
Down the road we are going to all gather at a NYSSA general meeting and show numbers and make them know we are for real ! Thanks again for your help in our Vintage push, lets make snowmobile history in NY !!!

All, We should send emails to NYSSA ourselves, sharing our thoughts on registrations for vintage sleds. The state would definitely make out over time since many sledders do not register the older sleds and this may be an incentive to maintain paperwork. There are a few things I would suggest diferently. Vintage should include any sled 25 years or older. (I believe NYSSA suggested 30 years old.) Vintage registrations could be for 2 years. (or more) Lastly, all sales taxes associated with vintage registrations should go back into the NY State's Snowmobiling fund. Bob

Well, First off thanks to all who have supported this effort to work out a compromise where a reasonable agreement could be reached. It will not satisfy all, to them I say where were you to add your input to reach an end . In these times of fiscal upheaval,I would say this isn't bad. Much more than we have now!
The deal is : 2 sleds registered at full price (whether they be vintage or new) At 45.00 per sled. Each additional (Vintage) sled will be 20.00 a yr 10 to DMV...10 to trail fund You must be a NYSSA member to receive this offer.
I hope this is received well, it is much better than the first offer. Which was 35.00 per yr per sled. Note: This for full usage ! Not limited use ! The language is being clarified for submission. That I will ask Mike to explain so I do not misquote the process. Again, It was a pleasure working with the BOD on this agenda,I feel it makes a more unified organization with all aspects of snowmobiling in NY represented. Respectfully, John Kress....Buffalokat
